EU to make law for Indian students to visit Europe

New Delhi: The European Union is working on a legislation which will make it easier for students and researchers from India to visit Europe.
Underlining that India and EU have enormous potential for developing ties in this field, Cravinho said that Europe has a declining population while in India it is booming.

“India has a tremendously ambitious skill development programme. Our growth is dependent on finding appropriate labour. So we have every interest in working together in developing a common approach that could benifit both,” the EU delegation head said.

Both Europe and India, he said, have great compatibility in cultural terms and understanding between the people which would help in terms of mobility, migration and interaction between Europeans and Indians.

Asked if there will be an ease in visa norms, Cravinho said it will be all a part of the package. “It is a wide-ranging package. This is a dynamic area in which you are surely going to see changes in the next few years. International governance of migration is important for us and India and we want to work closely together,” he said.
