Madhya Pradesh to become the best state: Governor

Bhopal: Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh is progressing fast on the path of development. Madhya Pradesh will be known as Uttam Pradesh (best state) as a result of the public-centric initiatives being taken by the State Government. He said that Foundation Day is golden moment of overview of the past and the present. Everyone including institutions, citizens and government will have to be committed to development. Shri Yadav was addressing Madhya Pradesh Utsav programme on the occasion Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day here today. Referring to Madhya Pradesh’s glorious history, natural bounty, cultural, literary, social and political richness and grandeur, he said that the state is a confluence of diversities. Welcoming famous artistes attending the programme, he extended greetings of Foundation Day to state’s people.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that youth power will be creatively utilised in rebuilding of Madhya Pradesh. He announced implementation of Free Medicine Distribution Scheme in the state from November 7. Announcing to promote Maihar Band established by famous music maestro Ustad Alauddin Khan, he said that International Band Festival will be held in the state next year. He said that films to be shot in Madhya Pradesh will be exempted from entertainment tax. Greeting state’s people on Foundation Day, Shri Chouhan urged them to make the state strong. He administered a pledge to huge gathering at the programme venue to carve out a new Madhya Pradesh with best of their abilities.
Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is a fast-growing state. It is growing at par with developed states of the country by achieving highest growth rate. He said that the state is marching ahead by registering 11.98 percent growth rate and 18 percent agriculture growth rate. Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh will become number one state of the country with people’s cooperation.
Referring to the state’s development scenario, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that 24-hour power will be supplied in the state. Presently, roads costing Rs. 35 thousand crore are being constructed. New records are being created in agriculture sector constantly. Referring to youths’ education, he said that the State Government will give guarantee of educational loans. Lack of funds will not be allowed to come in the way of education. Referring to success of recently held Indore Global Investors Summit, he said that now Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the favourite destination of investors and industrialists. He informed that through investment worth over 4 lakh crore, 27 lakh persons will get jobs.
The Chief Minister said that important schemes have been implemented for education and employment of girls. Misconceptions about girls in society will end through Beti Bachao Abhiyan. A provision has also been made to give pension to parents who have only daughters. He said that officers and employees should remain busy in state’s development with best of their capacity and dedication. Corrupt officers will not be spared. Their assets will be confiscated. Referring to decision announced by a special court of Indore today in a corruption case, he said that Anganwadi centres or schools will be opened in the three confiscated buildings of the guilty officer.
Culture & Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma said in his welcome address that Foundation Day is the occasion to take pledge to take state’s glory to the top. He said that the State Government is making constant efforts to preserve cultural heritage. Earlier, Shri Sharma greeted the guests with bouquets, coconuts and angwastram.
Member of Parliament Shri Prabhat Jha said that Foundation Day is the occasion to salute every citizen of the state. He said that the government has lit a lamp of development which cannot be put out. State Government’s policies and programmes are an unending series, which will benefit next generations.
At the programme, state’s artistes staged “Krishnayan” on the life of Shri Krishna while top musician Shri A.R. Rahman and singer Sukhwinder gave memorable performances. Staging of Krishnayan on the life of Lord Shri Krishna left the audience spell-bound while Oscar awardee Shri A.R. Rahman and his team’s performance enchanted them. Maihar Band also enthralled the audience.
Urban Administration Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, former Chief Minister Shri Sundarlal Patwa, MP Shri Kailash Joshi, Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, MLAs Shri Dhurv Narayan Singh, Shri Jitendra Daga, Shri Vishwas Sarang and large number of people were present on the occasion.
