Madhya Pradesh adopts holistic approach to development: Amit Shah

Union Minister for Home and Cooperatives  Amit Shah said that Madhya Pradesh is staying ahead in all spheres of development. He said that Madhya Pradesh has adopted a holistic approach to development. Efforts have been made to facilitate Madhya Pradesh join the league of developed states. The Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made Madhya Pradesh a progressing fast. Shri Shah was addressing after releasing Madhya Pradesh’s report card (2003-2023) in the Garib Kalyan Maha Abhiyan ( Drive for Welfare of the Poor)at Kushabhau Convention Center in Bhopal today.

Madhya Pradesh was once referred to as the most backward state. Today it is referred to as a State with Unparalleled Development. What was once considered a laggard is now standing tall in every sphere. From the perspective of development, Madhya Pradesh excels in every development parameter, which was once written off.

Shah said that in the Amrit Kaal of Azadi, we have to achieve sustainable development. Since 2014, Prime Minister Shri Modi has been giving supporting Madhya Pradesh wholeheartedly. Madhya Pradesh has come out of the bracket of Bimaru states.

Referring to an economist’s notion of Bimaru states,  Shah said that these bimaru states were obstacles in the country’s growth. It was said that reforms in these states is not easy. But Madhya Pradesh overcame this tag. Under the leadership of Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh has set itself free from being a Bimaru state. We have been successful in making the state self-reliant in all major sectors like agriculture, medical and engineering education, welfare of women, road, water, electricity and health. The need to provide benefits of schemes to the poor, Madhya Pradesh has done a remarkable work in the last 20 years. Madhya Pradesh became a unique state by working in the interest of the people. The law and order situation has improved along with electricity, water, roads, health and good governance.

 

Union Minister Shri Shah said that the once a Bimaru State Madhya Pradesh on top in many ways ensuring public welfare. Welfare schemes have been implemented at ground level.

 

Constantly Ahead

 

In past, there was no road in Madhya Pradesh. Only potholes were there. I have visited Mahakal for darshan several times through the Dahod route. I used to sleep sound until Dahod, but used to wake up suddenly the moment I entered Madhya Pradesh due to bumpy roads. There used to be around 60,000 kilometers of roads, but now, by over 5,10,000 kilometers of roads have been constructed. The national highway has expanded from 4,800 kilometers to an impressive 13,000 kilometers.

 

Union Minister Shri Shah said that Madhya Pradesh is at the forefront in taking poor people out of poverty. In the last 20 years, remarkable work has been done in education, road, agricultural growth rate, wheat procurement, paddy procurement, distribution of ration, upgradation of schools, implementation of tourism sector projects, operation of schemes, opening of new industrial training institutes, construction of national highways, construction of airports development, energy production. He also referred to initiatives like Statue of Shankaracharya in Omkareshwar and initiative to start Advait Sansthan, construction of International Cricket Stadium, irrigation sector, construction of Mahakal Lok, metro rail project in Bhopal and Indore, implementation of PESA rules and making Madhya Pradesh an investment-friendly state.

I assure 9 crore people of Madhya Pradesh that in the approaching golden era, we will strive for making Madhya Pradesh the most developed state in the country and making it a self-reliant state in every aspect.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is helpful in realising Prime Minister Modi’s resolve to make India the third largest economy of the world and to build a new India. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in his address, remembered senior leader of Madhya Pradesh Late. Shri Kushabhau Thackeray.

 

Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh faced a worst phase in which no-water, no-power, no-roads and only dacoits. Today scenario has changed. The size of Madhya Pradesh’s economy has been brought to 13 lakh 50 thousand crores from 71 thousand crores in 2003 last year. Especially since 2014, with the cooperation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Madhya Pradesh government has created new records of development.

 

In the past, development works were performed in a fragmented manner, like building 25,000 toilets. But now, the focus is on building toilets in every household. Previously, the goal was to bring electricity to 10,000 homes. Now, Prime Minister Shri Modi says that every home should have electricity, every poor person should have a home, everyone should have access to clean drinking water, and every poor household should receive a gas cylinder. The concept of holistic development for the welfare of the poor has been implemented in independent India and credit for this goes to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

 

Prime Minister Shri Modi left no stone unturned to speed up the development of Madhya Pradesh. The development of Madhya Pradesh got speed, new direction and Madhya Pradesh developed at high pace. Madhya Pradesh is progressing faster than the national parameters.

 

The percentage of contribution to the national GSDP has also increased from 3.6 per cent to 4.8 per cent today. The budget of Madhya Pradesh has increased to Rs 3 lakh 14 thousand crores from Rs 23 thousand crores in 2003. Madhya Pradesh is working hard to contribute 550 billion dollar to country’s resolve to become a 5 trillion-dollar economy. The growth rate of Madhya Pradesh is 19 percent. Shri Chouhan said that our government is not satisfied with this progress. Madhya Pradesh will play its role in the Prime Minister’s resolve to make India the world’s most prosperous, magnificent and glorious nation by the year 2047. Together we will make Madhya Pradesh the leading state of the country

Member of Parliament  VD Sharma said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan, we are moving towards making golden Madhya Pradesh. We will take development to every person at the last end. Short films made on the achievements of 20 years of Madhya Pradesh were screened in the programme. Also, a song based on poor welfare schemes was launched.

If 10 percent of the population in the country has come out of the cycle of poverty in the last ten years, then Madhya Pradesh has contributed the most in that.

Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made a lot of changes in every field in Madhya Pradesh. As far as the size of the state budget is concerned, it was 23 thousand 100 crores in the year 2002. Now it is more than 3 lakh 14 thousand crore.
