Omar Meets PM on J&K Autonomy Report
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah held talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday in New Delhi to discuss the Justice Sageer Ahmad’s report on centre-state relations, said media reports.
Abdullah expressed thanks to prime minister for receiving the reports of all the five working groups which were set up following second round table conference on Kashmir in May 2006 and insisted that a process should be initiated to implement the reports.
Also, he told Singh that if recommendations of the working groups were implemented, it would effectively lessen isolation of Jammu and Kashmir people connecting with the rest of India.
Abdulla feels that this will boost the confidence level and decimate the trust deficit that exists at the moment.
