Assistance Provided to All Flood Affected Persons: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that help will be provided to all the flood affected persons. Survey will be conducted of all the houses to ascertain damage to provide relief amount besides rehabilitation material. Shri Chouhan visited the flood affected areas of Rewa today and met the affected persons to boost their morale. Shri Chouhan reached Satna by rail on Saturday night. He reached Rewa after meeting affected people of Maihar.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said in case of death occurred due to the flood, a compensation of Rs. 4 lakh will be provided to the family of the deceased. Moreover, Rs. 95 thousand will be given for fully damaged house and 50 k.g. wheat will be given to the flood affected family. In case of loss of the bovine animal Rs. 30 thousand, Rs. 10 thousand in case of loss of calf , Rs. 3 thousand in case of hog loss and a sum of Rs. 60 per chicken will be provided to the concerning person. He further said an immediate relief sum of Rs. 6 thousand will be provided for the damaged shanty and shop.

Chief Minister Shri Couhan asserted that people residing near river and nullahs will be rehabilitated at the safe place after their consent to enable them to get rid of difficulties due to flood in low lying areas. Shri Chouhan visited the Nipaniya, Padamdhar Colony and various other flood affected areas of Rewa and reviewed the flood situation. He instructed the officials to make arrangement on a large scale to remove rubble and to make city clean. Bleaching powder and other medicines should be sprinkled to restrict diseases. Besides removing of dead animals, Shri Chouhan told the officials to ensure arrangement for clean potable water and food for the next two days for the flood affected people. He also instructed to provide bamboos, ballis and plastic sheets to the people whose houses have been damaged by the heavy rains and flood. Shri Chouhan also visited the Tyonthar and Java and reviewed the relief and rehabilitation works.

Shri Chouhan also visited the temporary relief camps put up for the affected people and apprised himself about the food and other arrangements. He said to the affected people that he has come to share their difficulties and pains. All possible help will be provided to them. He himself served breakfast to the flood affected people in the relief camp.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also paid a visit to Nipaniya and Amraiyya Tola and went to the damaged house of Mohanlal Saket. He directed the officials to construct drainage system in these areas for easy water discharge. He also visited Vikram Bridge, Unnat Bridge and Jhiriya Bridge and assessed the disaster which caused submergence of a vast land under flood water. Minister for Industries Shri Rajendra Shukla, Member of Parliament Shri Janardan Mishra and Public Representatives were present during the visit.
