Good work done in IT sector in Madhya Pradesh: CM

Bhopal: Works done in information technology sector in Madhya Pradesh were lauded at sectoral seminar on investment facilities in MP in IT, ITES, BPO and BPM during Global Investors Summit at Indore today. At the seminar, officers of Government of India, entrepreneurs and experts participated and suggested to make the work more efficient.
In his keynote address, Union Secretary, Information Technology Prof. R.S. Sharma dwelt in detail on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Digital India campaign. He said that campaign’s objective is to ensure access of every citizen of India to broadband connectivity. This facility will be made available in every Panchayat in next 2 years. About Digital Service Delivery, he informed that in it stress has been laid on certification of identity. Every person who has a mobile phone can avail benefit of digital facilities. There is a scheme to open every person’s bank account under Digital India. Financial inclusion is an important part of Digital India, he added.

Shri Sharma informed that all certificates and documents to be issued by Government of India will be digitised. No one will be compelled to show copies of certificates issued by various government departments. Besides, a person may be in any part of the country, he will get facilities there as per eligibility. Cash payments will be minimized and electronic payments maximized.

Prof. Sharma said that very good work has been done in e-Governance sector in Madhya Pradesh still, connectivity should be given between various applications. It is also needed that e-governance is available on mobile phones and its applications are re-designed.

Shri Jayjeet Bhattacharya of Partner, Infra-structure and Government Services dwelt in detail on ESDM policies. He said that there are immense job opportunities in electronics sector. He stressed the need to simplify processes and increase awareness about related issues. Giving example of several countries, he laid emphasis on better connectivity. Shri Tanmay Chakravarty of VP Head-Government Global Industry Group congratulated Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for glorious development of Madhya Pradesh. He said that good work has been done in Madhya Pradesh in IT, ITES, BPO and BPM sectors. He said that he has to given only one suggestions that all government facilities and processes should be digitised before next Global Investors Summit. He informed that android phones are now being widely used in rural areas. Therefore, we need to move towards e-governance.

Shri Sanjay Mehta of Teli Performance India said that his company is giving BPO services in the state since year 2007. The state government is very sensitive. He informed that large number of employees in company are from small cities and are below 25 years of age. Stressing need for training facility in the sector, he suggested to give training subsidy.

Director, Serve In BPO Services Shri Abhishek Gupta said that he got a good opportunity of operate BPO at Bhopal. He has faced no difficulty in work and his business is running smoothly. He lauded BPO policy of Madhya Pradesh. He advised small entrepreneurs to set up BPOs in rural areas. Managing Director of Netlink Software Shri Anurag Shrivastava said that industrialists are attracted to invest in the state as a result of good policies and sensitive administration in Madhya Pradesh. He stressed the need for setting up BPOs in small cities to provide employment and facilities to people.

Vice-President of Accenture India Shri Ravindra Reddy informed about good works done in this sector in the world. He said that enterprises in this sector should be started through local entrepreneurs. He also suggested to form local talent pool.

Secretary Information Technology and CM, Shri Hari Ranjan Rao threw light on seminar’s objectives.

Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Electronics Development Corporation Shri M. Selvendran said that suggestions made by experts at the seminar will be included in government’s policy. He said that changes in policy will continue to be made as per requirement from time to time in future.
