Government stands by farmers in this hour of crisis

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that survey should be started immediately in the villages affected by recent hailstorm in the state. He said that state government stands by farmers in their hour of crisis. The Chief Minister will himself visit hailstorm-affected areas.

The Chief Minister undertook review of loss to crops due to hailstorm. He directed that staff of Revenue, Agriculture and Panchayats departments should be included in joint survey teams. Assessment about crop loss during survey should be displayed at Panchayats. The Chief Minister directed to postpone Antyodaya Melas for time being in view of untimely rains and hailstorm.

It was informed that 450 villages of 14 districts have been affected by hailstorm in the state. Wheat and gram crops have been affected in these villages. The meeting was also informed about loss to crops of isabgol (spogel) and coriander in Neemuch and Mandsaur districts. Assistance under 6-4 of Revenue Book of Circulars is also given on loss to these crops. Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh, Health Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretaries to CM Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and Shri S.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary Agriculture Shri Rajesh Rajora and Principal Secretary Revenue Shri Arun Tiwari also attended the meeting.
