Madhya Pradesh gets State of the Year Award for fastest growth in Country

Bhopal: State of the Year Award was conferred to Madhya Pradesh at a dignified function in Mumbai today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan received the award presented by CNBC 18. The award has been conferred to Madhya Pradesh for fastest growth.

On the occasion, Shri Chouhan said that it was a big challenge to develop Madhya Pradesh as the most developed state in the country due to its earlier BIMARU status. We accepted this challenge and made efforts day in and day out to develop the state in every sector. People were also made partners in development. Panchayats of various sections of society were held and practical policies and schemes were framed as per people’s aspirations. Attention was paid to all sectors including agriculture, irrigation, roads, power, industries etc. As a result, Madhya Pradesh’s growth rate continued in double digit. Madhya Pradesh received Krishi Karman Award last year. It is a matter of pride that the state has been selected for this award this year too. Shri Chouhan said that where there is will there is a way. He said that he now wishes to make Madhya Pradesh number one state in the country in investment also. He said that he himself is the single-window for fulfilling industries’ requirements and solving their problems. Number of industries in the state is increasing. In future, employment will be made available to youths by laying a network of small and cottage industries in rural areas.

Shri Chouhan said that former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had dreamt of River Link Project. Any other state might not have realized it, but Madhya Pradesh has realized Shri Vajpayee’s dream by linking holy rivers Kshipra and Narmada. In future, other rivers will also be linked.

When asked that when Shri Lal Krishna Advani said that you (Shri Chouhan) and Shri Modi are equal in status, then will you move to the Centre? On this, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he will stay in Madhya Pradesh and develop it as number one state in the country. I believe that Shri Narendra Modi will prove to be the best Prime Minister, he added. The State of the Year Award was presented to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan by founder editor of News Network-18 Shri Raghav Behel and editor-in-chief of CNBC Shri Sanjay Pugaliya.
