Dream and resolution fulfilled of Bundelkhand: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Rail Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu and Union Minister for Water Resources Sushri Uma Bharti inaugurated Khajuraho-Tikamgarh rail line and passenger services and dedicated Chhatarpur railway station building.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said the dream and resolution of this region was fulfilled with inauguration of passenger services on Khajuraho-Tikamgarh rail line of Bundelkhand and dedication of Chhatarpur railway station. He said that no efforts will be left in developing and making Bundelkhand prosperous. He said that a major need of the region had been fulfilled with inauguration of Khajuraho-Tikamgarh railway line. Maximum industries and business will be set up in Bundelkhand. A network of cottage and small industries will be laid. The Chief Minister said that every effort will be made to complete Ken-Betwa link project for increasing irrigation area in Bundelkhand region. The Chief Minister urged the Union Rail Minister to introduce Khajuraho-Bhopal train. The Rail Minister accepted the Chief Minister’s request.

Rail minister Shri Suresh Prabhu said that reforms are needed in rail system for country’s development. He said that the government has priority to bring rail services in the areas not having rail connectivity despite so long after the independence. He said that Bundelkhand is the land of brave people and Khajuraho is heritage of the world.

Union Water Resources Minister Sushri Uma Bharti said that development of Bundelkhand will take fast pace after arrival of new rail line. She assured to complete Ken-Betwa link project soon. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, Rail Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu and Union Water Resources Minister Sushri Uma Bharti flagged-off passenger train at new rail line.

Minister of state for backward and minority welfare (independent charge)  Smt Lalita Yadav, MP Shri Nagendra Singh and Dr. Virendra Kumar, Shri Pushpendra Singh Chandel, MLAs and general manager of north-centre railways Shri Arun Kumar Saxena were present in the programme.
