CM sanctions 20 lakh for operation of Siamese twin girls
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sanctioned Rs. 20 lakh for surgery to separate Siamese twin girls baby Stuti and Aradhna of Betul district. Shri Chouhan said that administration should be responsive and extend every possible assistance in such cases.
Shri Chouhan has accorded this sanction relaxing rules of discretionary assistance scheme. He said that efforts should be initiated immediately after such cases come to notice. If needed, concerning persons should be provided full assistance after giving information to state level.
It may be mentioned that the Siamese twin girls were born on July 2, 2011 at Padhar hospital in Betul district. The girls’ pericardium of heart and liver are joined together. When Chief Minister Shri Chouhan came to know about these girls, he gave immediate instructions to officers to help in the treatment of the twin sisters. Betul collector had presented an estimate of Rs. 20 lakh for treatment, operation and medicines etc. for the girls.
