CM ensures school and house for two children

Two children and their rickshaw driver-father were pleasantly surprised when officials in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district provided them not only school facilities for schooling but a house after their hut was damaged, rendering them homeless.

The action followed instructions from Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who read about the plight of the family in a newspaper, an official communication said on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the Bilaspur administration admitted Ganga Sahu, 8, and her brother Arun Sahu, 6, to the Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School at Lingiyadih.

Ganga Sahu was admitted in Class II and Arun Sahu in Class I. Bilaspur Collector Saransh Mittar handed them uniforms, text books and other study material.

The administration also allocated them a house, built under the IRDP scheme in Rajkishore Nagar by the Municipal Corporation, to their father Ganesh Ram Sahu. The house is near the school.

Their hut at Jhudapara, near a railway track in Bilaspur, was damaged. This rendered them homeless, affecting the education of the children.
