CM announces Rs. one lakh Dr. Hari Singh Gaur Award

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in various programmes at Sagar today. At a function, he felicitated office-bearers of various scheduled caste communities. The Chief Minister announced that a Rs. one lakh Dr. Hari Singh Gaur Award will be given annually for outstanding work in education field.
At the felicitation function, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is making concrete efforts to ensure welfare of every section of society. He said that the State Government has started tradition of annual kumbas in the names of saints and seers of scheduled castes with organising Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kumbh every year to mark his birth anniversary. In the same series, Sant Ravidas and Sant Kabeer Kumbhs have also been organised. He said that the State Government provides upto Rs. 15 lakh each to students to pursue higher studies abroad.
MP Shri Bhupendra Singh, MLA Shri Shailendra Jain, State Scheduled Casts Commission Chairman Shri Narayan Prasad Kabeerpanthi, Mayor Smt. Anita Ahirwar and others were present on the occasion.
Takes food with children
The Chief Minister participated in the special lunch hosted by Maharani Laxmi Girls School at Sagar. First he served food to children and then took it sitting among them. Before eating, he sat on children’s bench and recited Bhojan-Mantra.
Lays foundation stone of community hall
The Chief Minister inaugurated fourth MP’s Trophy Competition at sports complex in Sagar and laid foundation stone for construction of a community hall.
He said that one should participate in sports with sportsman’s spirit. This event is a good beginning of sports competitions in Bundelkhand region. Players putting in excellent performances at the state and national levels will be awarded. He informed that Mukhyamantri Trophy has been launched from Youth Day in which all indigenous games have been included.
Panch Kalyanak and Gajrath Mahotsav
The Chief Minister participated in Panch Kalyanak and Gajrath Mahotsav at Karrapur village in Sagar district today. He sought blessings from Muni Shri and inaugurated the event. The Chief Minister said that non-violence is the basic principle of Indian culture. Lives of those become meaningful who live for others. He said that constant efforts are being made in the state to protect girls and ensure their better upbringing. Every opportunity will be made available to them to move ahead in life. The Chief Minister announced to open Krishi Upaj Mandi in the village and sanctioned Rs. 3 crore for it. He sanctioned Rs. 4 crore for Karrapur-Chanotoriya Road. MP Shri Bhupendra Singh, MLA Shri Shailendra Jain, State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Shri Narayan Prasad Kabeerpanthi, Munishri Ajitsagar Ji and Pushpadhansagar Ji, Arykashri Upsandhyamatri and others were present on the occasion.
