Chief Secretary Antony de sa inspects AIIMS complex

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa has said that, maximum cooperation will be extended by state government’s departments and agencies for development of necessary facilities at AIIMS, Bhopal. It is requirement of citizens that All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in the state capital is fully equipped. Due to it, institution’s existing problems will be redressed on priority. The Chief Secretary was addressing officers after inspecting AIIMS complex. He said that there should be no shortcoming on state government’s level to fully equip AIIMS. The Chief Secretary Inspected OPD, pathology lab, dissection room, anatomy, medicine, dentistry and other departments and other available facilities at AIIMS. He also went round lecture hall, seminar hall, library, bank branch and meeting hall.

AIIMS Director Dr. Sandeep Kumar informed that state government had allotted 154 acre land for AIIMS. Medical college, hospital, houses etc. have been constructed on this land. Regional Paramedical Institute will be constructed in about 8 acres. About 98 percent works of housing, 84 percent of medical college and 68 percent works of hospital have been completed so far. In future, bone-marrow transplant facility will be provided in the hospital. Dr. Kumar informed that earlier, entire complex was undeveloped area. With special cooperation of state government, the area has been developed, roads have been constructed and other works undertaken. AYUSH complex and herbal garden are also proposed to be developed in the AIIMS complex. The AIIMS Director also introduced the Chief Secretary with medical specialists of various departments.

Principal Secretary Medical Education Shri Ajay Tirkey, Bhopal Commissioner Shri S.B. Singh, Director Medical Education Dr. Nirbhay Shrivastava, Bhopal Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Vishesh Garhpale and Registrar Medical University, Jabalpur were also present on the occasion.
