888 houses to be built for denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes in state

Bhooal: As many as 888 houses will be built in the state this year for people belonging to denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes. A departmental budget to the tune of Rs. four crore has been set aside for construction of these houses.

Each beneficiary under the scheme will be provided Rs. 45 thousand as share subsidy. Beneficiaries will be selected through Gram Sabha. As many as 51 communities have been recognised as denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes in the state. Of these, 21 are denotified and 30 nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes. The State Government has also constituted a separate department for the welfare of these tribes.
