Next meeting of I.N.D.I.A may held in Bhopal

To be held in October, planning for joint rally of leaders of opposition parties

The next meeting of I.N.D.I.A., an alliance of opposition parties, may be held in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, in early October. This meeting is to be held after the first joint public rally of leaders of various opposition parties. Assembly elections are to be held in the state after two months.

 

News agency PTI has given this news quoting sources. Sources said the option of holding the next meeting was discussed at a recent meeting of opposition parties in Mumbai. It was agreed to hold the meeting in Bhopal, but no date was fixed. Also, its modalities were not worked out.

 

Sources said that opposition leaders have also kept Delhi as an option for the next meeting of the opposition alliance. However, there was no confirmation of the date. On the other hand, I.N.D.I.A is planning to organize joint rallies against NDA at various places as the elections approach.

 

The I.N.D.I.A alliance has already held three meetings in Patna, Bengaluru and Mumbai. In the third meeting held in Mumbai on 31 August and 1 September, 5 committees including coordination and campaign were formed. The logo could not be finalized in the meeting. Many parties have liked a design, in which some suggestions have been given for improvement.

1 CM, one deputy CM, two former chief ministers in the 14-member committee

1 CM, 1 Deputy CM, two former Chief Ministers, 5 Rajya Sabha and 2 Lok Sabha MPs have been given place in the opposition committee. Apart from this, two leaders from the Left have been included in the committee.

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren (JMM), Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav (RJD) in the committee. There are two former chief ministers from Jammu and Kashmir – Omar Abdullah (NC) and Mehbooba Mufti (PDP).

The five Rajya Sabha MPs are- KC Venugopal (Congress), Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena UBT), Sharad Pawar (NCP), Raghav Chadha (AAP) and Javed Ali Khan (SP).

Two Lok Sabha MPs- Lalan Singh (JDU), Abhishek Banerjee (TMC). D Raja (CPI) and one member from CPI (M). The name of the CPI(M) member has not been announced.

We resolve to fight the next Lok Sabha elections together as far as possible. The system of seat sharing in the states will be started immediately.

Will hold public rallies across the country at the earliest on issues of public concern and importance.

Publicity and media strategy will be made in different languages with the theme ‘Joint India, India will win’.
