Central team lauds implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes

Bhopal: A high-level team of Government of India has lauded effective implementation of Centrally sponsored rural development schemes in Madhya Pradesh. The Central team visited various areas in Dhar district today and witnessed positive changes due to these schemes in rural area. Holding direct dialogue with villagers, the team members learnt ground reality of Central schemes and discussed prosperity brought about by them in life of rural people.

Union Secretary rural Development Shri J.K. Mohapatra and Additional Secretary Shri Amarjeet Singh undertook spot inspection of rural development schemes at Sulibyadi, Bhilbarkheda and Jeerapur. They held direct dialogue with villagers about rural development schemes at Bhilbarkheda and members of self-help group about National Livelihoods Mission at Jeerapur. Villagers informed the Central team that their economic condition has improved due to Kapildhara wells and conferring of forest rights pattas. The villagers informed that due to improvement in irrigation facilities, they have started to grow 3 crops instead of one. Now, they are earning Rs. 60 thousand to Rs. 70 thousand instead of earlier Rs. 5-10 thousand. Kapildhara well are getting recharged and water is available in wells in summer also. Using this water, they grow round gourd and other vegetables. Living standard of people in village Bhilbarkheda has been much improved due to development works under MNREGA. Due to bumper crop of Kaddu (round gourd), this village is called “Kaddu Gaon” in Indore Mandi.

The Central team also sought information about payment of wages under MNREGA. Villagers informed that they are getting payments within 15 days. This amount is received in their bank accounts. Additional Secretary Shri Sinha was pleased to see economic upliftment of villagers.

The Central team inspected Kapildhara wells and houses constructed under Mukhyamantri Aawas Yojana at village Bhilbarkheda and Narsing-Jhitra. The team members also distributed Rs. 50 thousand sanction letters to 4 beneficiaries at Bhilbarkheda. Officers of Rural Development Department and district administration accompanied the Central team.
