Bringing Narmada water to Vidhya government’s priority

Bhopal: Minister of State for General Administration, Aviation and Narmada Valley Development Shri Lal Singh Arya has said that it is the priority of the state government to bring Narmada water to Vindhya region through Bargi diversion project. He said that Bargi diversion project should be constructed speedily with quality. Shri Arya was reviewing Bargi diversion project at Maihar today.

He informed that for water flow in Mandakini river of Holy City Chitrakoot throughout the year, a proposal will be examined to bring water from Bargi canal or Bansagar canal.

Shri Arya reviewed main canal work of Bargi diversion project’s right bank canal from 0 km to 197.4 km and 2 canals branching out from 197.4 km including Nagaud-Satna branch canal from 0 to 131.40 km and Rewa branch from 0 to 39.3 km. Shri Arya said that documents of the schemes which are to be taken up with the Union Government for approval should be made available at the earliest to ensure necessary action the at Central level.

Shri Arya informed that Maa Sharda Ki Paudi will be constructed on the lines of Har Ki Paudi near Sharda Devi Mandir at Maihar connecting it with Bargi main canal. Shri Lal Singh Arya also inspected bridge lining work of Bargi left canal at 11.2 km, 127 meter long aqueduct at 16.29 km and drainage culvert at 10.21 km.

Shri Arya cautioned officers not to compromise with quality of constructon works. Shri Arya said that efforts should be made in right earnest to implement 100-day, one-year and five-year action plans speedily as per wish of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Sijngh Chouhan.
