BJP slams Congress on planned ‘Chawal Utsav’
Chhattisgarh BJP unit while slamming Congress government’s plan for launching Rs Chawal Utsav’ claimed on Sunday that it was the previous BJP government which had major concern for poor and it ensured that not a single poor person go to bed with empty stomach.
Millions of residents were provided food grains, salt and oil at cheaper rate by the previous BJP regime. Now, the Congress is indulging in shoddy politics in name of ‘Chawal Utsav’ (Rice Festival)’’ BJP state spokeperson Sachchidanand Upasane said in a statement.
He further stated that the BJP had never tried to indulge extracting political mileage over the implementation of public welfare programmes but Congress was indulging in mean politics over half-fulfilled poll promises.
He said that Congress was yet to fulfill its promises on issue of slashing power tariff to half, unemployment allowance and liquor prohibition.
Meanwhile Congress claimed that BJP had been celebrating ‘Chawal Festival’ for votes but Congress was committed to fulfill its promises.
State unit Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said as per the ‘Jangoshna Patra-2018’, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has begun process of honestly implementing promises made to people during run up to assembly polls in the state late last year.
