Bhopal: Cong whines, says it’s old wine in new bottle

Chief minister Kamal Nath said BJP’s manifesto released on Monday is ‘jumla patra’ and added that it does not contain too many new things. On the other hand, former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said BJP’s manifesto is a vision document of century.

The BJP released its manifesto, ‘Sankal Patra’ in New Delhi on Monday. “Construction of Ram temple, removal of Section 370 or Article 35A was also mentioned in 2014. But BJP forgot it and now they are trying to befool people once again by repeating old promises in new package,” Nath alleged. Ex-CM Chouhan claimed that ‘Sankal Patra’ is a document to transform India into prosperous, and powerful nation.

“This is roadmap document, which will make the nation “Vishwa Guru”. State BJP president Rakesh Singh said manifesto is not only an announcement but it is a life-changing roadmap of farmers, youths and small businessmen. He said party has taken care of marginal farmers, small businessmen, and old people in the manifesto.

However, Congress media vice president Bhupendra Gupta said BJP manifesto is like “Basi Daal with New Tadka” (fresh spices in stale daal/ old wine in new bottle). He said it is clear that party does not have future vision. “All the promises mentioned in BJP manifesto of 2014 are repeated in 2019,” Gupta remarked.
