India vs Australia: Statistical highlights of Delhi ODI – Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma set records

Usman Khawaja struck his second century in three matches as Australia thumped India by 35 runs in their final one-dayer to seal a come-from-behind 3-2 series victory at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Wednesday.

Opener Khawaja strengthened his claim for a place in the World Cup squad with an elegant 100 to steer Australia to 272-9, though the tourists had looked on course to top 300 at one stage.

Adam Zampa (3-46) and his fellow bowlers then skittled India for 237 in exactly 50 overs to register their third successive victory as Australia overcame a 0-2 series deficit.

– Usman Khawaja recorded the most runs as an Australian opener in a bilateral ODI series against India. He leads the list with 383 runs. Matthew Hayden is behind Khawaja with 303 runs.

– Rohit Sharma became the joint third fastest to complete 8000 runs in ODIs. The opening batsman, who scored 56 in the fifth ODI, took 200 innings to achieve the feat. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly also took 200 innings to reach 8000 ODI runs.

– Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma recorded the third most fifty-plus stands among Indian pairs in ODIs. Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar lead the list with 29 fifty-plus stands, while Kohli and Rohit have recorded 13 half-century partnerships. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are tied at the third place with Kohli and Rohit.

– Usman Khawaja is the first Australian batsman to score two centuries in a bilateral series against India. The opening batsman scored 100 off 106 balls in the fifth ODI.

– Kuldeep Yadav recorded his worst bowling average in an ODI series consisting of minimum three matches. The chinaman bowler picked up 10 wickets for 302 runs at an average of 30.20.
