Fresh initiative to improve states health index

Bhopal. The state government signed an MoU with Tata Trust at Mantralaya here today. Its objective is to improve state’s health index. The MoU on behalf of the state government was signed in the presence of Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa. Principal Secretary Health Smt. Gauri Singh, Director of National Health Mission Shri V. Kiran Gopal were present on the occasion. Under the MoU, Tata Trust will collaborate with the state in nutrition, mental health, treatment of cancer etc.

The MoU has been signed to improve state’s health index and health facilities. Tata Trust will give significant contribution in it as technical advisor. Under the MoU, work will be undertaken in 6 inaccessible development block of the state including Khaknar in Burhanpur district, Ranapur in Jhabua district, Shahpur in Betul, Bicchiya in Mandla, Kotma in Anuppur and Devsar development block in Singrauli district.

Nutrition and health services will be made available in these inaccessible blocks to children upto 5 years of age, females and males. Similarly, Tata Trust will also collaborate in increasing nutrition facilities for women of conceivability age, pregnant women, newborns and children of 2 to 5 years.

Under the MoU, effective monitoring and assessment of technical facilities will be made and facilities of service delivery, VHND, ANC etc. will be made available at primary health centres. Tata Trust will collaborate in health & nutrition and RMNCH programme.

Similarly, training will also be imparted regarding mental health to concerning officers and counsellers in all 51 districts of the state. Besides, malaria, TB and family welfare programmes will be monitored through MCP software.

As per MoU, an agreement would be signed with Ujjain district hospital to develop the hospital as National Cancer Grid. Principal Secretary Health informed that efforts are being made to improve state’s health index. ACS School Education Shri S.R. Mohanthy, Principal Secretary Panchayats & Rural Development Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Shri J.N. Kansotiya and Tata Trust’s Shri Verghese Tarapurwala, Shri Sanjeev Phansalkar and Sugandha Veliga were also present on the occasion.
