Over 78 thousand farmers benefitted in Betul district

Betul: Public Health Engineering Minister Sukhdev Panse has told that due to Jai Kisan Crop Loan Waiver Scheme, crop loans worth more than Rs 264 crore have been waived of more than 78 thousand eligible farmers in Betul district. In the first phase, crop loans worth Rs 183 crore of 65 thousand 947 farmers and Rs 81 crore of 12 thousand 212 farmers have been waived in the second phase. He said that under the second phase the process of presenting loan waiver certificates and citations to the farmers is in progress. Panse was addressing the farmers’ crop loan certificate distribution programme at Malegaon in Multai tehsil.
Minister Panse dedicated slab culvert, bridge, choupal, motor pump and drinking water pipeline expansion works costing about Rs 30 lakh during the programme. He also distributed compensation amount of Rs 40 lakhs to 16 beneficiaries of Naya Savera Yojana.
Local people’s representatives, dignitaries and a large number of villagers were present in the programme.
