24,400 forest rights holders get benefits under various schemes in state
Bhopal: As many as 24 thousand 400 forest rights holders have been provided benefits under various schemes in the state. Of these, wells have been dug in the fields of 6,503 patta holders. Diesel and electric pumps have been made available to 1,016 patta holders. Similarly, houses have been built for 146 homeless patta holders while uneven land of 16 thousand 735 patta holders has been leveled and developed.
Community claim cases under the Forest Rights Act in areas within 5 kilometre radius of forest periphery are also being disposed on priority. The work is being done like a campaign by the Schedule Tribes Welfare, Forest and Revenue departments’ officers jointly.
