16th Day of ‘Namami Devi Narmade’- Seva Yatra

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will participate along with two renowned environmentalists on the 16th day of ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva yatra at Bargi of Jabalpur District.
Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, a distinguished environmentalist will participate in Narmada seva yatra, the biggest campaign of the country on December 26. It may be mentioned that the campaign to clean the polluted Kali Bein river was conducted successfully by Shri Seechewal in Punjab. He was honoured with ‘Hero of Environment’ title. Shri Seechewal on his own cleaned the160 kilometer long Kali Bein river of religious and historical importance which had become a dried up drain. Around 500 years back Guru Nanak Dev had received spiritual enlightenment at this river. In the year 2000, Sikh Dharmguru Balbir Singh took a pledge to clean the river. He constructed the river banks, laid roads and spread awareness among the people not to put garbage in the river. The river now has become the main tourism spot for the people.
Swami Girishanandji has also emerged as one of the hero of environment. He conducted a big movement with Sadhu-Sants to stop sewage water of Khandari Nullah which was released in the Narmada River. A natural treatment water plant established with people’s cooperation to stop sewage water. Neither operator nor electricity is used in this plant. The nulla unites with the river after 200-300 meter and the water is being cleaned with bacteria which help treating water. An amount of around Rs. 40 lakh was spent with people’s participation towards this purification campaign.
Moreover, a famous film actor Shri Ashutosh Rana will also take part in Narmada Seva Yatra at Bargi on December 26.
