UP Police arrests illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Vrindavan

It’s no hidden secret that a large number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are living in India, which takes a heavy toll on the resources of the country. The large numbers of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants also pose a huge security threat to the nation. They pose a security threat to India and as they indulge in illegal activities such as fraudulent procurement and/or fabrication of Indian identity cards — PAN, voter IDs etc — money laundering, crimes and other anti-national activities.

On Thursday, in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh, the local police arrested a Bangladeshi youth, who was living as a Krishna devotee at the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Vrindavan on the charges of staying illegally entering and staying in India. Police also recovered fake identity documents including Aadhaar, Passport and PAN Cards etc. The police have also recovered his birth certificate from possession which is from West Bengal.

According to the local police, the name of arrested person is Falgun Vikas Vaidh, and he is 35-year-old. He entered India in 2004 and came to to Vrindavan in 2010 after having sojourn at Mayapur and Ujjain. The arrested Bangladeshi told the police that he had managed to India after giving a bribe of Rs 500 to a middleman for crossing the border. The Police has arrested him under section 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged) of IPC and section 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.

According to the police, the arrested Bangladeshi is a resident of district Chitgaon in Bangladesh and has been living in India by faking his identity with a fake name of Pavitra Das. He confessed his crime.

The Times of India has quoted Sub-Inspector in Vrindavan police post, Vipin Gautam saying that the police have information that a large number of Bangladeshis are living in Vrindavan by faking their identity. Some of the Bangladeshis are living disguised as Krishna Bhakts. In the recent time, the Mathura Police has arrested over 50 Bangladeshis who had been living illegally in Vrindavan. Almost all the arrested Bangladeshis were found in possession of fake identity documents including Aadhaar, Passport and PAN Cards etc.

According a Times of India report, this is not the first time that the police have arrested someone from ISKCON temple, Mathura. On September 12 also two Bangladeshi youths were arrested by the Local Intelligence Unit of UP police from ISKCON temple.

Also in September, NIA has registered a case against five Bangladeshi nationals- Mohammed Habibur Rahman Habib, Ripen Hossain, Hannan Anwar Khan, Hassanali Mohd and Azarali Subhanalla Islam- for helping a terrorist organization. The five were arrested by the Pune ATS for helping members of a Bangladesh based terrorist organization “Ansarullah Bangla Team” in Pune City.

All the five arrested Bangladeshis were staying illegally in India without valid documents and were working as construction workers at various sites in Pune. Through fraudulent means, they had managed to get Indian PAN Cards, Aadhaar Cards, Voter ID Cards and Ration Cards in fictitious names by submitting fake/forged documents. They used the same Aadhaar cards and Voter ID cards to obtain Indian SIM cards, for opening bank accounts and getting employment.
During the course of the investigation, it has also been found that the five arrested person in the year 2017 provided shelter and money to- Tushar Bishwas- who is a member of the terrorist outfit ‘Ansarullah Bangla Team’. There is already a chargesheet registered against him by the NIA.

Illegal Bangladeshis living in India are nothing but national security threat, and they have been indulged in all sorts of illegal activities.
