Sports develop traits of efficient management and leadership: Governor
Bhopal: Inaugurating SBSE Cluster-11 Football (Under-19 boys) Competitions organised by International Public School here today, Governor Shri Ram Naresh Yadav said that sports develop traits of efficient management and leadership among students. He said that besides character-building, sports also help maintain balance in life.
Governor Shri Yadav inaugurated the competitions by lighting a lamp. Shri Yadav declared the meet open by releasing multi-colour balloons in the air. Students also staged cultural programmes on the occasion. Captains of the participating teams took out a march past. Shri Kamlesh Yadav and CBSE Delhi’s Deputy Director Sports Shri Pushkar Vora were specially present on the occasion. Chairman Shri Nanda greeted the Governor with shawl, coconut and memento.
Governor Shri Yadav said that sports competitions give opportunities of physical, mental and intellectual development to the country’s young generation. Shri Yadav hoped that players will brighten names of their school, state and country by participating in this competition. He said that sports strengthen spirit of friendship and brotherhood.
CBSE Delhi’s Deputy Director Sports Shri Pushkar Vora said in his welcome address that objective of this competition is to strengthen students’ character and make them good citizens. Shri Nanda said that players will get an opportunity to display their best talents during this four-day competition. School principal Shri P.S. Kalra proposed a vote of thanks. In all, 66 teams from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are participating in the competitions.
