Madhya Pradesh Day celebrated at International Trade Fair

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Day was celebrated at International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi today. State’s Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa was the chief guest at the function. Shri de Sa said that it is indeed challenging to portray entire Madhya Pradesh in such a small pavilion. Even then, focus has been made on state’s handicraft, tourism, industry, energy, education, horticulture and other sectors.

Theme of this year’s event is “Inclusive Growth”. Efforts have been made to display the theme in centralised way in Madhya Pradesh stall. Its front gate is a replica of Sanchi stupa and toran. Through a large video-wall on the stall’s front portion, highlights of state’s tourism, culture, arts and skills are being displayed.
On the occasion, Prahlad Tippaniya presented Kabeer Gaayan and traditional Kathi dance at Lal Chowk Theatre. The Chief Guest also gave away prizes to excellent exhibits. In government sector, Women and Child Development Department won the first prize and Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. In the private sector, Techtonics Pvt. Ltd. Jabalpur was given first prize and Bhakti Pump Indore second. Jury’s special prize went to the Agriculture Department.
