Poor have prime right on development: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the poor has prime right over development. He said that the State Government is striving to ensure that the poor get square meals, receives adequate power for agriculture and domestic use, has his own house and maximum opportunities for development. He said that anything that is required for making Madhya Pradesh number one state of the country will be done. Shri Chouhan was launching Atal Jyoti Abhiyan and Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana at Tikamgarh today. The programme ws presided over by former Chief Minister Sushri Uma Bharti.

Shri Chouhan said that 24×7 power supply will improve state’s economy. Power will be supplied for 24-hours for domestic and 8 hours for agriculture use. This will not only ensure development of agriculture, but will also improve living standard of rural people. He said that this will develop industries in the state catapulting Madhya Pradesh’s economy to new heights.
Former Chief Minister Sushri Uma Bharti said that dream of prosperous state will be fulfilled through outstanding works of development and public welfare. Efforts are underway to ensure that Madhya Pradesh becomes a pioneer state in the country and India number one country in world.
Energy and Mineral Resources Development Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that impossible work of providing 24X7 power has been accomplished today. He said that its full credit goes to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s strong willpower. Food & Civil Supplies Minister Shri Paras Jain, Minister of State for SC, ST Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik and MP Dr. Virendra Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
At the outset, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and guests launched Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for 24X7 power supply by pressing a button. At the same time, he also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for Rs. 83 crore works in the district. On the conclusion of the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and guests distributed food grains as a token to beneficiaries under Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana.
