Why Should Amitji Apologise, Asks Jaya

Amid controversy surrounding presence of Amitabh Bachchan in Sea Link function, former actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan has come out in support of her husband, said media reports.

“Why should Amitji say sorry?” she was quoted as asking.

“I am not here to speak for Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh is capable of defending himself,” the MP was quoted as saying.

On Wednesday, Amitabh Bachchan attended a ceremony in Mumbai for the inauguration of the newest phase of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. That appearance created a storm, with some in the Mumbai Congress openly expressing their unhappiness.
