Public interest schemes are framed with compassion and sense of service: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that public interest schemes are chalked out with compassion and sense of service. Senior citizens need service the most. Keeping this humanitarian angle in view, the Central Government has launched Minimum Pension Scheme under which minimum pension of workers has been fixed at Rs. 1000 per month. The Chief Minister was addressing a function for felicitation of pensioners here today. Union Minister of State for Energy and Coal Shri Piyush Goyal said that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as an ideal state in development where balanced development is taking place.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan quoted late Shri Deendayal Upadhyay that “Service to the downtrodden is the service to God”. The Central Government has launched Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana which will turn out to be a boon for the poor. The Minimum Pension Scheme launched today is also an example of humanitarian angle. He said that all have right on resources. A number of welfare schemes have been implemented for the poor in the state. Arrangements have been made to provide wheat and rice at the rate of Re. one to the poor and free medicines and pathological tests in government hospitals. Labourers of closed mills will also be provided wheat and rice at the rate of Re. one. About 25 lakh construction workers have been registered in Madhya Pradesh, who are being given benefits of social security. Schemes like Mukhyamantri Tirth-Darshan Yojana have been implemented for senior citizens in the state under which they are taken free to pilgrimage centres. Global Investors Summit is being held to boost industries and employment in the state, which will be participated by delegations of 26 countries. Employment opportunities will increase and Madhya Pradesh will become prosperous through investments.
Union Minister of State Shri Goyal said that pensioners’ role is important in progress of the country. This is a historic day when the Central Government has implemented Minimum Pension Scheme in the interest of pensioners. It will benefit 32 lakh families in entire country. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi wishes to take India forward as strong country in 21st century. Madhya Pradesh has implemented schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojana, which has been replicated by other states also. Madhya Pradesh is growing fast in agriculture, industry, information technology and service sectors. One lakh families of Madhya Pradesh will benefit by Minimum Pension Scheme. “Make in India” scheme will increase industries and employment in the country. Madhya Pradesh and Central governments are realising ideals of late Deendayal Upadhyay.
As token, pensioners were felicitated at the programme. Additional Commissioner Employees Provident Fund Shri P.D. Sinha informed about schemes for employees provident fund. He informed that there are one lakh 40 thousand pensioners under Employees Provident Fund in Madhya Pradesh. Of these, about one lakh pensioners are will be given benefit of minimum pension. MP Shri Alok Sanjar was also present at the programme organised by Employees Provident Fund Organisation. Regional Commissioner Provident Fund Shri Ashwini Kumar Gupta proposed a vote of thanks.
