CM Shri Chouhan unveils Veerangana Avantibai’s statue at Damoh

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has unveiled a statue of Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi in front of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Park at Damoh today. Shri Chouhan also dedicated a community hall construction to perpetuate memories of Rani Avantibai.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi is an ideal not only for Lodhi community, but for entire country. By attaining martyrdom in India’s freedom struggle, she brightened name of her community in entire country. He said that he had announced installation of Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi’s statue and construction of community hall, which has been fulfilled today. He also felicitated sculptor of the statue. It is noteworthy that the life-size statue of Rani Avantibai has been made of Ashtdhatu (alloy of 8 metals).
At the function, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was felicitated by members of Lodhi community with sword, shawl and coconut and offering turban to him. Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, Agriculture Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, MP Shri Shivraj Singh Lodhi, former Minister Sushri Kusum Mehdele, MLAs Shri Dashrath Singh Lodhi and Smt. Uma Devi Khatik, Zila Panchayat President Smt. Anita Singh and other distinguished persons were present on the occasion.
