Delhi Daredevils continues on Top

NEW DELHI: Shahbaz Nadeem and Irfan Pathan went for too many runs but also picked crucial wickets and played very important role in Delhi win. Mumbai chasing a huge target of 208 runs does not started well.

Pathan picks two wickets and reduced Mumbai Indians to 19 for 3 in 3.1 overs. At this stage Rayadu and Karthik combined and added valuable 96 runs and took Mumbai close to the target. When it was looking that game was set for a close finish then Nadeem strikes and picks two wickets in consecutive balls. Rayadu made 62 in 39 balls while Karthik made 40 runs.

Earlier, Mumbai invited Delhi to bat after winning the toss. Sehwag and Jayawardene make full use of favourable batting conditions slammimng 135 runs for the first wicket partnership. sehwag conitues his terrific form from the last game and made swashbuckling 73 runs in only 39 balls with four sixes.

Jayawardene made 55 runs in 42 balls. Pietersen then launched attack in slog overs to take pass delhi 200 runs. Delhi finally made 207 runs for the loss of four wickets. Peterson pick three wickets while Malinga two.

Harbhajan: “We didn’t get the result we were looking for. Delhi played fantastic, they batted too well. Credit goes to Delhi, they outplayed us.” No kidding. Harbhajan says there was a risk in asking Delhi to bat but he says they like chasing so Mumbai took that chance.

Sehwag: “We discussed in the team meetings tht one of me and Mahela has to stay until the 15th over, today both of us did and we had a very good partnership.”
