12th results out, 1.5 lakhs get first division

Bhopal. Results of the higher secondary examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education were announced here today. As many as 69.23 percent regular and 36.78 percent private candidates have achieved success in the exams. School Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis has extended congratulations and best wishes to the girls and boys who have passed these exams.
The results were released by the Board Chairman Shri. M.K. Rai today. This time also, 72.75 percent girls passed the exams against 66.79 successful boy candidates. Among the private candidates 40.50 girls passed the exams against 34.89 percent boys. This year, exams were held at 2978 centres where four lakh 83 thousand 345 regular and 91 thousand 483 private candidates had appeared. The Board has also prepared a faculty-wise provisional merit list. A merit list of 10 each students of arts, science (maths) and commerce, five of science (biology) and three each candidates of agriculture, fine arts and home science has been declared.
Of the declared results of four lakh 62 thousand 66 regular students, one lakh 50 thousand 323 passed the exams in the first division, one lakh 50 thousand 76 in the second division, 19 thousand 483 in the third division and 17 students have secured passing marks. Supplementary has been given to 80 thousand students. Of the 90 thousand 477 private students, 5962 candidates have passed the exams in the first division, 20 thousand 630 in the second division, 6678 in the third division whereas 7 students have secured passing marks. Supplementary has been given to 22 thousand 236 private candidates. Shri Rai informed that results of 25 institutions having 500 or more candidates have been withheld as per government’s instructions.
