UAE Aircraft Cleared, Resumes Flight

The UAE Air Force plane resumed its path to its destination after it was freed by Indian authorities in Kolkata, where it was detained, along with a nine member crew, for failing to declare its strategic cargo last Sunday.

The plane, bound for Hanyang in China, had landed at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose airport for refueling last weekend.

Though the plane had had necessary clearance but it had nowhere mentioned that it was carrying a consignment of weapons, said a ministry of defence spokesman.

The aircraft, a Hercules C-130 military transport craft, was released after UAE expressed regrets and filed a fresh declaration of the cargo this week.
