TDP Launches Bus Yatra, Chiru Campaign for United Andhra Pradesh

Stepping up its agitation against creation of Telangana, TDP has launched a ‘bus yatra’ today while PRP supremo Chiranjeevi began his campaign for a ‘United Andhra Pradesh’.

The 11-day bus yatra launched by TDP in Tirupati would pass through Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Srikakulam to seek support for unified state.

“We will meet various sections of the society during the tour and raise awareness on the need for a united Andhra Pradesh. We will expose how Sonia Gandhi decided to cut the state into pieces like a cake on her birthday,” senior TDP MLA G Muddukrishnam Naidu said in Tirupati.

In the meantime, after reaching his constituency Tirupati, Chiranjeevi decided to start a campaign, informing people about the benefits of staying united.

The fast-unto-death started by Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal in Vijayawada continued today while TDP MLA D Umamaheshwar Rao remained in the hospital, where he was forcibly shifted by police yesterday.

In Kadapa, Congress MLC Y S Vivekananda Reddy, brother of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy continued his fast for the fourth day today, in support of united Andhra Pradesh.

His wife Y S Sowbhagyamma and three MLAs joined him in the fast yesterday.

Rallies, road blockades and other forms of protests continued across Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions.
