Suspected Maoists Gunned down Three CPM Workers

Three CPM workers have been shot dead by suspected Maoists at Sebaytan village in Midnapore West district in the wee hours on Thursday.

The workers are – Bijay Mahto, Manik Mahto, Brihaspati

Police said that rebels called the victims out of their homes in the village unde Jhargram police station at about 1.30 am and shot them dead.

A note lying near the bodies, which were found in front of a college, said that they were meted out the ‘extreme punishment by people’s verdict’ because they were ‘police informers’.

In another incident, the Maoists blew up an office of the forest department at Jhitka in Lalgarh area using a landmine.
