Steersman, Assistant Held in Thekkady Boat Capsize Case
The steersman of a boat that drowned in Thekkady lake last week killing 45 people has been arrested along with his assistant.
The police team probing the case held Vitctor Samuel, the steersman of the double-decker boat and his assistant Anish.
Police said that both of them would be produced before a magistrate court at Peerumade in Idukki district later.
Following preliminary investigation, it had come out that the overcrowding in the upper deck and steersman’s ‘carelessness’ resulted in the tragedy on September 30.
