Bhopal: The state government has constituted state and district-level committees in compliance with an order of Supreme Court. The committees will fix responsibility of concerning persons on Supreme Court’s order. The committees have been constituted in compliance with Supreme Court’s order in the case of Gujarat State vs Kishan Bhai and Others to fix responsibility of concerning persons for negligence in investigation and prosecution or court’s adverse decision on the basis of deliberate malicious investigation.
The district-level committee will be headed by district magistrate. Other members will include SP and district prosecution officer. The district level committee will meet every month, fix responsibility for negligence in duties in case of adverse court decision and undertake review. The committee will send its recommendations to the state-level committee.
The state-level committee will be headed by the Principal Secretary Home. Its members include Principal Secretary Law, Director Public Prosecution and Additional DGP SC, ST. Deputy Secretary Home will be its Member-Secretary. Directives have been given to hold meeting of state-level committee every month. After reviewing its report, the state level committee will present it to the state government.
