Soren Leaves for Mumbai to Meet Gadkari, Expected to Discuss Govt Formation

All set to form the government in Jharkhand, JMM chief Shibu Soren has left for Mumbai to meet BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

“Soren left for Mumbai along with AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto, BJP state president Raghubar Das and senior BJP leader CP Singh by a chartered plane,” Supriyo Bhattacharya, general secretary of JMM, said.

Soren, who has received the support of the BJP and AJSU, was accompanied by his son Hemant. He will be administered the oath of office on Wednesday at the Morabadi at 2 pm.

Reports said quoting JMM sources said that Soren is expected to discuss the formation of the state cabinet with Gadkari. However, it is being termed as a courtesy meeting officially.

Soren, who will be chief minister of Jharkhand for the third time, had on Saturday staked claim to forming the government with a list of 45 legislators supporting him in the 81-member house.

Soren is likely to return to the state capital by Monday evening.
