Healthy police and law & order to pave way for golden Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that better law & order situation will become foundation stone for golden Madhya Pradesh. He said that healthy police and law & order situation will pay way for it. He was launching Madhya Pradesh Police Health Security Scheme at his residence here today.

Hailing police administration, officers and jawans for maintaining better law & order situation and communal harmony, he said that police personnel discharge duties day in and day out to ensure common people’s security and peace. They discharge their duties under difficult and tense atmosphere.
Stressing the need for more efforts to ensure police welfare, the Chief Minister said that a large-scale scheme will be considered to solve housing problem of police personnel. He said that state government has ensured every possible effort for police welfare and done its best for them despite limited resources. He said that the police has eradicated dacoity menace, demolished SIMI network and controlled Naxal problem. Shri Chouhan said that Police Health Security Scheme is a revolutionary step towards police welfare. He congratulated the officers associated with concept of this scheme.
Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta said that police is discharging its duties under difficult situation in Madhya Pradesh. He said that concrete police welfare schemes have been implemented in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. These schemes pertain to service and housing both. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the fastest growing state in the country now.
Expressing gratitude towards officers associated with implementation of the scheme, DGP Shri Nandan Dube said that it has been formulated on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. It will be beneficial for police personnel and their families.
The scheme will be run by a trust chaired by the DGP. About one lakh police personnel of all cadres working in Madhya Pradesh will benefit from it. Police personnel and their families will get timely treatment at health institutions recognised by state government in and outside the state. Maximum limit for expenditure on treatment will be Rs. 8 lakh per annum. Reimbursement of bills of treatment of police personnel and their families will made through smart cards.
As a token, the Chief Minister gave away smart cards of the scheme to police personnel. Every card contains name of the member, rank, date of birth, blood group, date of joining service etc. additional DGP Welfare Shri Pradeep Runwal threw light on the scheme in detail. Mementoes were presented to the guests.
Minister of State for Home Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, OSD of the Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa Additional DGP Shri Sarabjeet Singh, OSD Director General Academy of Administration Shri I.S. Dani, Additional Chief Secretary Shri M.M. Upadhyay, Additional DGP Shri Sudhir Saxena and large number police personnel and their family members were present on the occasion.
