Shopian Women Murder: Cops Move Sessions Court for Bail

In the wake of a Supreme Court directive, four police officials of Jammu and Kashmir who were arrested in connection with alleged murder and rape of two shopian women, have moved a sessions court for a bail.

Asking the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case, the court in Shopian diaries before it on July 27 and listed the bail applications for the four for argument on Wednesday.

Advocate Aseem Mehotra filed the bail applications on behalf of former Shopian Superintendent of Police Javid Iqbal Mattoo and his deputy Rohit Baskotra while advocate Naseem Ahmad did the same for former station house officer of Shopian Inspector Shafeeq Ahmad and sub-inspector Gazi Abdul Karim in the sessions court.
