In the midst of the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a big announcement on Saturday. Putin said that he would deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Amid rising tensions with Western countries, Putin warned NATO about supplying arms to Ukraine. Putin said- This decision of mine does not violate the Nuclear Treaty. America has also deployed its nuclear weapons in other countries and we will do the same now.

At the same time, America said on Putin’s decision that at present there is no indication that Russia will use nuclear weapons. A senior US official said – We do not see any reason to change our strategy related to nuclear weapons. There is also no possibility of Russia’s use of nuclear weapons. Together we will stand to defend NATO countries.

Russia deploys Iskander missile system in Belarus
Putin said- Russia is building a special storage facility here to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus. This work will be completed by the beginning of July. We have already sent several Iskander missile systems to Belarus, which can be fitted with nuclear warheads. We will not give control of these weapons to Belarus. They will only be stationed there. We have made 10 aircraft of Belarus capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons. Now from next month we will start training of pilots.

Putin said – the decision was taken after seeing the attitude of America and Britain
Condemning America and Britain for sending weapons to Ukraine, Putin said – Uranium is present in the gunpowder and shells that Britain is sending. Earlier in March, he had announced to give Challenger-2 battle tank to Ukraine. West and European countries are continuously behaving irresponsibly. Due to his decisions, I have taken this step.

After 1990, Russia is now sending nuclear weapons to other countries
This is the first time since 1990 that Russia will deploy its nuclear weapons in another country. On Putin’s decision, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said – We have deployed S-400 air defense system and Iskander missile system. This was handed over by Russia to Belarus about 6 months ago.

What is Tactical Nuclear Weapon
Tactical nuclear weapons are those weapons which are capable of hitting specific places. They do not have the power to blow up many cities at once. Tactical nuclear weapons include short-range missiles, artillery shells, surface-to-air missiles, and torpedoes with nuclear warheads. However, it is not yet known how many such weapons Russia will deploy in Belarus.

Nuclear weapons exist in many countries of America
America has deployed its nuclear weapons in many European countries like Britain, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey. Presenting security proposals in 2021, Russia had asked the US to withdraw its nuclear weapons. However, this proposal was rejected by the US and NATO.
