Scolded for Not Studying, Teenager Kills Father, Grandma

Disappointed with repeated dressing-down for not being serious towards studies, a 17-year-old boy on Friday reportedly shot dead his father and grandmother in Lucknow, reported IANS.

According to report, Utkarsh Sahu, 17, allegedly shot dead the two with the service revolver of his father Rama Shankar (47), a head constable and later wounded himself attempting to misguide the police.

The incident occurred at the police lines colony at Mahanagar, said report.

“He (Sahu) told us that some unidentified assailants killed his father and grandmother, but we have clinching evidence suggesting the teenager himself committed the double murder,” inspector R K Gupta was quoted as saying while talking to reporters.

“Sahu, a student of Mahanagar Boys Inter College, Lucknow, later confessed to the crime and is being treated for his injuries at a hospital. He is out of danger,” he was quoted as saying.

The boy told the police that he shot the two in a fit of anger as his father and grandmother often gave him talking down for not studying.
