Maoists Kill Two at Gaya Toll Plaza, Loot Weapons

Suspected Maoist rebels killed two people, including a security guard, and injured several others in a brazen attack on a toll plaza on a highway in Bihar’s Gaya district, say reports citing the police on Wednesday.

Launching the attack, late on Tuesday, armed rebels killed a security guard and a truck driver at a  toll plaza on Grand Trunk road at Mahapur village in Gaya.

The rebels set three vehicles on fire after looting arms and ammunition from the security guards at the toll plaza.

The attack came during the two-day shutdown called by Maoists in six states to oppose a go9vernment crackdown on them.

Late on Monday, the rebels blew up a railway track in Gaya, leading to the derailment of the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express.
