Rahul Gandhi to Visit Shimla

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Shimla on Tuesday with a view to impress upon youth in the hill state. It’s his first visit.

Ahead of his visit, which is also for giving a push to NSUI ranks, there is a wave of enthusiasm in the Congress cadres in the state.

After getting off at Jabbharhatti airport, nearly 25 km away from Shimla, Gandhil will drive to the Mall to address media, as per schedule.

“Then, he will visit the Congress Bhawan and address general house of Pradesh Congress Committee and frontal organizations of NSUI, Youth Congress and Sewa Dal. Vital issues concerning party at the national and state level would be discussed there.

“The objective is to strengthen the party,” said state Congress chief, Kaul Singh Thakur.

Then in the day, Gandhi will interact with students at Himachal Pradesh University campus, said Thakur.

In the afternoon, Rahul would fly to Dharamsala to have another session of informal chat with students in lower regions of the state.

Rahul would be accompanied by AICC secretary and MP Meenakshi Natrajan and All India NSUI president Hivi Hidden in Shimla.
