Re-polling in Manipur on Feb 4

NEW DELHI: In Manipur re-polling will be done in 34 polling booths on Saturday at five hill districts.

Paramilitary forces will be guard all the polling station because they are being treated as hyper sensitive.

At least five people were killed in the violence caused in January 20 polling in Manipur.

The dead also included two civilians and one polling officer.

Sources said, some militants tried to capture a booth and fired at the CRPF personnel present there. A CRPF personnel was killed when a militant fired him from a very close range during the violence.

They have attacked the booths even as security was tightened across all polling stations, especially a day after the blast outside a government official’s house. Several other small incidents of violence have been reported from the state.
