Ramesh and shivraj held talks on Indira Awas Yojna

New Delhi: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan called on Union Urban Development Minister Shri Jairam Ramesh in New Delhi today. Shri Chouhan urged him to make available houses of one lakh 86 thousand families under Indira Aawas Yojna. He informed that houses are being allotted as per census 2011 so far as a result of which only 84 thousand families are getting benefit of the scheme at present. These beneficiaries mainly belong to SC, ST categories. He demanded to extend benefit of the scheme to one lakh 2 thousand more houseless families. Shri Chouhan informed that under Indira Aawas Yojna, Central fiscal provisions are fixed as per data of census 2001 in the ratio of 75 percent for shortage of houses and 25 percent for poverty. Shri Chouhan said that a total of 2200 kilometer roads remain to be constructed in IAP districts of the state under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna, whose proposals have been sent to the Union Government. He urged to o include those roads of Madhya Pradesh in phase-2 of PMGSY which have completed 10 years.

Shri Chouhan demanded Rs. 1045 crore under Nirmal Bharat Yojna of MNREGA. He said that this amount is very vital for works upto December 2012.

Union Minister Shri Jairam Ramesh gave a patient hearing to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. He assured to take positive decisions on these issues at the earliest.
