NIA raids in MP’s Bhind and Barwani: Gangster-terrorist connection and input to sell arms to Khalistanis

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team has reached Bhind and Barwani districts of Madhya Pradesh. At Gohad in Bhind district, the team interrogated a person named Jitendra alias Jeetu Sardar (28) after taking them into custody. The team seized Jitendra’s mobile and called him to Chandigarh for questioning after two days. It is being told that a large amount of transactions have been done in Jitendra’s account from Punjab and Manila city of Philippines. Here, the team reached Sikligar’s house in Barwani.

Bhind SP Manish Khatri told that the NIA team had reached Sherpura village of Endori police station area on Wednesday morning to interrogate Jitendra Singh. Jitendra’s father Narendra Singh is a private bus driver. The agency had received inputs of large foreign exchange transactions in bank accounts. The team is ascertaining from where and why so much money came into the bank account.

Jitendra’s uncle’s son Devendra’s father Karnail Singh lives in Manila city of Philippines. NIA has received information that Devendra used to send money to the account of some Charanjeet Singh in Punjab. After which Charanjit Singh used to send money to Jitendra’s account. Even three months ago, the Andori police station had inquired about some matter by going to Jitendra’s house. For the last 6 months, Jitendra was under surveillance by the NIA team with the help of the local police.

Jitendra’s father Narendra Singh told that Jitendra has been doing computer work at Swaraj Tractor Agency for the last 10 years. They also have an agency in Punjab. Their money comes into my child’s account. The son has answered all the questions asked by the team. The account of the money that has come has also been told.

The investigating agency had received input of supply of arms to Khalistanis, Naxalites and terrorists. Team Shyam alias Tony reached Umarthi’s house to inquire. Shyam’s father Antar Singh is in jail in connection with illegal weapons. Shyam is also not in the village. Interrogated women and children at home for 9 hours.

Illegal weapons are made on a large scale in Varla area. This area belongs to Sikligars i.e. artisans who sharpen and polish weapons. The weapons here have been supplied to Madhya Pradesh as well as to many states including the country’s capital Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat. The raids are being conducted by the NIA in connection with three separate cases registered last year. The agency had arrested Deepak Ranga on January 25 this year. Deepak is the main accused in the May 2022 attack on the Intelligence Head Quarters of Punjab Police in Mohali. Apart from the attack on Intelligence Head Quarters, Deepak has also been involved in several other terrorist and criminal cases. He also had links with terrorists sitting abroad. He has also been a close associate of Canada-based gangster-turned-terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa and Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda.

On Tuesday also, the NIA team from West Bengal searched the house of Abdul Rakib, arrested on charges of terrorist activities in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. The door of Rakib’s room was closed and searched for 2 hours. The team also started probing about the feed numbers in Rakib’s mobile. Apart from his relatives, a list of 12 names and numbers has been made. These are his friends or acquaintances. The team is tracing them and checking the records.

On 9 January 2023, the STF (Special Task Force) team of West Bengal arrested Abdul Rakib, a former member of SIMI (Student Islamic Movement of India) living in Khanshahwali. Rakib came on the radar of STF when Mo. was arrested on suspicion of terrorism in Howrah, West Bengal. Saddam and his friend Saeed Ahmed had exposed his name during interrogation. It has come to light that all the three accused are linked to the infamous terrorist organization ISIS, which runs from Pakistan. They were connected with each other on social media and were plotting to terrorize Kolkata.
