President blessed MP with four National Awards

BHOPAL: President of India Mrs. Pratibha Patil bestowed four National Excellence Awards on Madhya Pradesh at National Tourism Awards 2010-11 function held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The four national awards with which the state has been conferred with include First Best State for Comprehensive Development of Tourism, Best Tourism Publicity Literature, Best Film on Tourism and Best Urban Management at Tourist Destination in India.

The awards were received by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Minister Mr. Tukojirao Puar, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dr. Mohan Yadav and Managing Director Mr. Pankaj Rag. Union Tourism Minister Mr. Subodh Kant Sahay and Union Minister of State for Tourism Mr. Sultan Ahmad were especially present on the occasion.

Central financial assistance in the state has been fully utilised by adopting innovative methods in tourism infrastructure and development. The computerised monitoring and project management of Madhya Pradesh are laudable. Besides caravan tourism, international air travel facility has also been made available to tourists in the state.

For years, tourists from the country and abroad have been praising the publicity literature prepared by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation on the basis of experts’ advice, research etc. Tourists have also liked the booklet “The M.P.T. Corporate Booklet”, which provides information about prominent units of Madhya Pradesh Tourism.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism’s film “MP Ajab Hai–Sab Se Ghazab Hai” has been adjudged the best film on tourism. This ad film is based on shadowgraphs in which state’s famous tourist spots have been displayed in an interesting manner.

The state has been conferred with Best Urban Management at Tourist Destination in India Award for the year 2010-11 on the basis of keeping famous tourism destination Mandu clean and green and environmental conservation by Mandu Nagar Panchayat with the cooperation of people.
