Fresh FIR against Ajit Jogi in Gaurella in forgery case

A fresh FIR has been registered against former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Supremo of regional outfit Janta Congress Chhattisgarh- Jogi (JCC-J) Ajit Jogi on Thursday night by Gaurella police in Bilaspur district.

Superintendent of Police Bilaspur, Prashant Agrawal informed The Pioneer that the case has been registered on compliant of one Sameera Painkra. Case has been registered for alleged forgery in preparation of caste certificate. The certificate produced by Jogi was issued by the then Tehsildar Patras Tirki who later in an affidavit had denied that the certificate was issued by him, said the official.

Notably, a high power caste scrutiny committee had recently cancelled all caste related certificate of Jogi, which had later been challenged by him (Jogi) in the Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur.

The district collector, Bilaspur, followed by the decision of the committee had already filed an FIR at civil lines police station in the same matter
